Tips To Alleviate Aches And Pain While Traveling

If you are experiencing aches and pains due to traveling, you most likely want to find a treatment for the discomfort you are experiencing. At the first signs of a problem, contact Anderson Chiropractic in McMurray to meet with our chiropractor. Follow the below tips to prevent pain from happening when you travel.

Make Sure To Stretch Often

It is best to think of traveling as an exercise regimen. Make sure to stretch your body for several minutes before you intend on sitting or standing for an extended period to keep your muscles from cramping. After you arrive at your destination, stretch again to get your body used to moving from the position it had been resting in for so long.

Take Frequent Breaks During Travel

Make it a priority to move your body around as much as possible while you are traveling. If you are traveling by car, take a break every two hours, so you have time to stretch and move around. If you are traveling in a plane, train, or boat, get up from your seat every hour or so and walk around if there is an opportunity to do so. Walking up and down an aisle or to the bathroom can also help.

Use Tools To Assist With Comfort

Invest in a lumbar support pillow to rest your back when you travel. This will help to keep your spine aligned and prevent poor posture. Avoid hunching over when using a cell phone or electronic device. Use a stand for your device to help stop the text neck from occurring.
